Job description: We seek established scholars with research expertise that integrates Urban Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and city sensing technologies, as well as cybersecurity systems to create smart and connected communities. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated curriculum of transdisciplinary research in urban planning and city science focus on secure urban sensing, including but not limited to the following sub-domains: Urban sensing deployment, assessment and integration of safety of urban sensing systems, planning policies and regulations behind urban sensing systems and smart and connected communities, land use law and modeling and policy from secure urban sensing and cyber secure systems. Selected candidates are expected to: continue their research agendas in secure urban sensing and ethical urban artificial intelligence with an added focus to the San Antonio metro area and Texas in general, establish, develop and sustain a broad portfolio of grant funded research, mentor students and contribute to a collaborative research environment, and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations across departments and research centers (e.g., architecture, planning, environmental and civil engineering).
