PN-NYC stands in solidarity with striking Hunts Point Market workers

The New York City chapter of the Planners Network stands in solidarity with Hunts Point Market workers of Teamsters Local 202 as they strike for a fair wage. As workers and professionals in the built environment, we recognize that cities are run by labor, not private capital. Hunts Point is city-owned land, and it is unconscionable that it is being leased to private companies who refuse to fairly compensate essential workers, especially during a pandemic. We encourage Planners Network members and the planning community to join the picket line at 772 Edgewater Road, Bronx, NY, or make a donation to strike support.
