The Opportunity
The City of Madison seeks a qualified Principal Planner with excellent communication skills to be part of the leadership team for the Planning Division. The Principal Planner will lead the Comprehensive Planning and Regional Cooperation (CPRC) Section, an experienced eight-person team of planners and data specialists responsible for maintaining and tracking progress on the City’s Comprehensive Plan, planning for efficient future growth on the periphery of the city, data management, and relationship building with area municipalities and other government entities.

To be Successful
We are seeking candidates with professional planning experience including responsibilities for land use and community planning, project management, public engagement, and work as a leader or member of a team.
